The year 2021 is on its last legs,

There is much to be forgotten.

Horrors of the pandemic are still fresh in our minds,

Will take time to be forgotten.

With height of optimism for the year 2022 rivaling even the Himalayas,

We will make such troubled times do an about turn.

Burdens of the year going by are loaded in our hearts and minds,

But then, isn't life all about marching ahead with any burden?

Let no one doubt the amazing powers of our nerves of steel,

We will keep marching ahead with full determination.

For a new chapter is being authored by each one of us,

Of our all-round efforts to effect a historical about turn.

Our beloved General has bid adieu to all of us.

His soul-mate with all brave-hearts on board except one,

Have accompanied him in their respective eternal journeys.

Our hearts skip many a beats,

Shivers keep coming down our spines.

How could fate be so cruel to our Nation?

This question still begs answers.

Their final journeys unite all fellow citizens,

United in mourning and sinking all differences.

Their souls must be overwhelmed,

Seeing such mass adulations and emotions.

Destiny's will has prevailed,

And will prevail for all times.
